01 Apr Economic dimensions of personalised & precision medicine
This month University of Chicago Press release a National Bureau of Economic Research Conference Report. In this book edited by ERNST R. BERNDT (MIT), DANA P. GOLDMAN (USC), AND JOHN ROWE (Columbia U), we explores altogether the intersection of the scientific, clinical, and economic factors affecting the development of PPM, including its effects on the drug pipeline, on reimbursement of PPM diagnostics and treatments, and on funding of the requisite underlying research; and it examines recent empirical applications of PPM. With my colleague Diego Useche, we wrote a chapter on financing Orphan Drug R&D.
